These rules apply to every account, every Chapter, every check-in. They are not configurable. They are not exempted by paid tiers. They are part of what makes a FORGE record worth showing to someone.
Updated 2026-05-17
§1 · The Daily Record
Each day is binary. The grid never lies.
Daily check-in is binary: kept or missed. There is no partial credit.
Missed days are red on your grid. Permanent. They do not auto-clear, expire, or get hidden by future success.
A comeback — your first check-in after a miss — turns that day amber. Permanent marker that you returned.
Optional photo proof is read by GPT-4o vision to assess whether it supports your commitment. This affects the credibility shade of the green cell (Strong Proof / Proof Added / Logged), not the binary kept/missed state.
You can log without proof. The grid still shows you kept the day — but at the lowest credibility weight.
§2 · Your Declaration
Your declaration locks at the start of each Chapter.
The Identity Declaration is the “I am someone who…” line on your profile.
It locks the moment you open a new Chapter. You cannot quietly edit it mid-Chapter.
The only way to change it is to seal this Chapter and open a new one with a different declaration.
Every Chapter you have ever lived keeps its declaration on your record forever.
§3 · Chapters
Sealed is sealed. No edits, no exceptions.
One active Chapter at a time. One Non-Negotiable per Chapter.
A Chapter cannot be closed in its first 7 days. This prevents starting over to dodge a bad week.
Closing requires a reflection: 40 characters minimum on days 7–20 (“why are you closing this?”), 80 characters minimum on day 21+ (“what did you learn?”).
Sealed Chapters are immutable forever. The declaration, reflection, dates, stats, and any photo are locked.
You have 7 days after sealing to attach one photo (gallery upload only, JPEG/PNG, max 20MB, EXIF stripped, resized server-side to 2048×2048). After that, the photo slot locks.
§4 · Forge Score
A rolling 60-day window. Weighted by proof.
Your Forge Score is the weighted sum of your last 60 days of completions, divided by 60, expressed as a number out of 100. The weights reflect how credible the day’s record is:
Strong Proof — weight 1.0 — photo verified by GPT-4o as supporting the commitment.
Logged — weight 0.1 — you claimed the day with no photo.
Pending review (photo submitted but AI hasn’t graded yet) is treated as Logged (0.1) until verified.
Between Chapters, your score is frozen for 7 days from the day you sealed your last Chapter. After that, the score eases down naturally as old days slide out of the 60-day window. There is no other built-in pause.
§5 · Ranks
Earned by time and consistency. Top two by human review.
Raw → Hardened → Bronze → Steel are automatic. Cross the days-active + Forge Score threshold and the rank applies.
Iron requires 365 active days, Score ≥ 80, and FORGE team review. A human reads your record before the rank applies. SLA: 7 days from queue.
Titanium requires 1000 active days, Score ≥ 85, and FORGE team review. Same human-review gate as Iron.
Declined rank reviews can be reapplied for after a fixed cooldown. The decline never appears on your public record.
There is no paid path to a higher rank. No subscription tier, no enterprise unlock, no exception for hardship cases.
§6 · Achievements
Fifty lifetime marks. Twenty-four hours to edit. Then sealed.
Each user can mark up to 50 Achievements over their entire FORGE lifetime. This is a hard cap. There is no paid override.
For 24 hours after upload, you can edit the caption or delete the Achievement entirely (which frees the slot).
After 24 hours: sealed forever. No edits, no deletes, no support escalations.
Photo + caption (max 80 characters). Photo only — no video, no GIF, no audio.
The same photo cannot be uploaded twice per account (SHA-256 hash deduplication).
Achievements appear on your social profile only. They are structurally absent from your professional record (see §7).
Because real records are short. The cap is what makes each entry mean something.
§7 · Two Views, Structurally Different
One record. Two URLs. You choose the context.
Social view at beforged.app/u/{username} — your full profile. Includes Achievements, Character Estimate, calendar, social context.
Professional Record at beforged.app/u/{username}/record — document-style credential view. No Achievements, no Character Estimate, no user-uploaded avatar (we use a typographic mark instead).
This separation is enforced at the data layer, not just in the UI. The Record API response literally does not contain Achievements or Character Estimate keys. You cannot expose them on the credential surface even by accident.
Both views are public by URL. No login is required to view either.
§8 · Privacy
We strip what shouldn’t live on your record.
EXIF metadata is stripped from every uploaded photo: GPS location, device identifier, original timestamp, camera settings.
Original photos are discarded after processing. Only the display variant (2048px JPEG) and thumbnail (400×400 JPEG) are retained.
There is no search by real name. Profiles are discoverable only by their URL.
We do not track who views your profile. No view counts, no visitor logs, no email-on-view notifications.
No third-party analytics that send user-identifying data off our servers.
§9 · What We Never Do
The shortcuts other trackers offer, FORGE refuses.
No PDF exports. Your record is a live URL. A frozen PDF becomes a lie the moment your next check-in lands. The credential is the link.
No paid rank elevation. Iron and Titanium require human review of real behavior. Money does not move you up.
No streak shields, makeups, or premium recovery. A miss is a miss. The 7-day Between-Chapters score grace is the only built-in concession to rest.
No bulk imports from external trackers (Strava, Apple Health, Whoop, etc.). The record is FORGE-native and cannot be retroactively backfilled from elsewhere.
No notifications when someone views your profile. Sharing the URL doesn’t broadcast.
No social discovery feed. No “people you may know,” no global leaderboards, no algorithmic surfacing.
§10 · The Record Stays Honest
We cannot rewrite your record. Not even for you.
FORGE support cannot edit your record on your behalf. We cannot remove missed days, alter sealed reflections, or restore deleted Achievements past the 24-hour window.
This rule has no exceptions — not for legal threats, not for “I changed my mind,” not for premium customers.
The single exception is account deletion: deleting your account removes all your data permanently. There is no soft-delete, no archive, no “reactivate within 30 days.”
The point of a record is that it’s the record. Anyone who could edit it for you could also edit it against you. We chose not to be able to.
